after 51 or so hours of hard work, shes finally done. it didnt photograph well, so hopefully i'll have a chance to take better photos at school. also there is a bit of paint drip that developed while it was drying that i JUST realized in the photo. oh well... thanks for viewing. comments/critiques are GREATLY appreciated. I worked hard to complete this, i know you can take 2 minutes out of your day to give feedback =D

Materials:
-b mix clay cone 10
-epoxy resin
-bondo
-wood filler (water putty)
-spackling
-sandable primer
-glossy black enamel

UPDATE: Going in the student show at my schools art gallery from may 19 - may 29

That's cool. The folds/raised edges are really cool, especially from the top. I like the head supporting arm and spaceship leg a lot. I don't have quite the eye for abstract art to properly critique (yet), or at least not the language, but I can tell you what I think work. (As I had already started.) Idefinitely think that the "sharpening" effect toward the leg/lap is effective and while it never would have occured to me to us the glossy black, it really does work. It stands between organic and inorganic. (That sounded totally pretentious, but I'm sure you know what I mean.)

i already said what i think about this... so you know. but anyways, i think it looks very nice now as well. nice n' polished.

thank you for an elaborate feedback, and yeah i know what you mean. it was actually my fathers idea to use glossy black, to really exentuate the smooth surface. and it doesnt hurt that it mimics glass/porcelin

It's cool that he is involved. I think it was a good move. Although the sculpture would have worked in white or yellow or gray or....

Are there any other abstract sculptors on dA that you admire?

i dont remember, have a look through my favorites. i know ive got a few abstract sculptures in there that i liked
